DPW Drop-off Day
The DPW will hold its quarterly drop-off day for major appliances and automotive materials Saturday, Sept. 25th from 8 to 11 a.m. The drop-off for CRTs (CRTs are found in items such as computer monitors and televisions), major appliances and 20 lb gas grill propane tanks is at the Town Garage yard off Upper Main St., adjacent to the new Police Station. Major appliances to be accepted are refrigerators and freezers (with the doors removed), air conditioners, hot water tanks, kitchen stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers. There will be a charge of up to $10 per item. Cash or checks will be accepted. The collection is open to Rockport residents only with a valid Transfer Station Sticker. The automotive drop-off will be at the Wastewater Treatment Plant at the end of Pleasant St. Acceptable items are waste motor oil, car and boat batteries, and antifreeze. Residents may have their containers returned to them or leave them for disposal. Call 978-546-7888 for more information. The DPW asks that no material included in the collections be dropped off before or after the posted times.
