Ad Hoc Committee on the Water Supply

The Ad Hoc Committee on Town Water Supply is the longest standing committee for the Town of Rockport, established at the 1980 Annual Town Meeting. Annually “...the Moderator appoints a Committee to be comprised of not less than seven registered voters including a designee or member of the Board of Health and a designee of the Board of Selectmen ... (Its charge is) to assist the Director in the investigation and make recommendations relating to the Town’s water supply...” In addition one ex officio member from the Board of Selectmen, the Director, and Town Engineer often attend meetings as technical advisors. Members come from all walks of life including several with civil engineering backgrounds. The Committee has been extended by vote at each subsequent Annual Town Meeting.

As a Committee we are looking at the current as well as long term needs of the Town. We will develop a plan and schedule to meet the Town's future demands.
