North Shore Vocational Technical High School

North Shore Technical High School is a regional vocational technical high school serving students from 16 communities including Rockport. Students are bussed from Rockport to the school which is located at 30 Log Bridge Rd. in Middleton, just off of route 114.

Students at North Shore take academic courses which include Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies and courses in the vocational area they select, such as Automotive Technology, Health Technology and Cosmetology. Most students alternate academics and vocational programs over a two-week (10-day) cycle. Students graduate with both a high school diploma from the Massachusetts Department of Education and an Occupational Education Certificate indicating the number of hours in the vocational program area.

Like comprehensive high schools, North Shore offers a wide array of extra curricular activities for its students.

A representative from each community, appointed by the Town Moderator or Mayor, serves on the District School Committee which is the governing Board. Appointments to the School Committee are usually three-year terms. Rockport's representative is Geoffrey Small.

The school committee meets on the second Thursday of each month, at 7:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is encouraged to attend.

For more information regarding the school you may visit the NS Tech Website.
