The
Rights of Way Committee (ROW) of nine members strong is appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year terms. In May 1987, the Rockport Selectmen created an ad hoc committee to
identify, mark, maintain and protect access to public property and
public rights of way over private property. In March of 1989 at the Rockport Town Meeting, a permanent Town ROW Committee was established by an overwhelming vote. The ROW Committee is fortunate to be assisted by a number of hard-working associate members as well as the Friends of the Rights of Way (FORROW).
The ROW Committee meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 7:30 PM at Town Hall, Room A, and invites the public to participate.
Check out pictures of Earth Day '07 field work on the Atlantic Path by the united efforts of the ROW and FORROW (many are not pictured).
Also, enjoy the pictures of some of the ROW/FORROW Atlantic Path Cleanup crew on June 16, especially of one very eager volunteer - Eli. Many thanks to all of our volunteers.
