Services of the Town Clerk’s office include:
· Voter registration at Town Hall. Voting at the following places: Prec. 1, Pigeon Cove Circle, Breakwater Avenue, Prec. 2, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 24 Broadway, Prec. 3, Rockport Elementary School, 24 Jerden's Lane. Town Meeting is at the Rockport High School
· Recording and issuance of vital records (births, marriages, & deaths)
· All planning and zoning filings
· All town meeting and election records
· Annual Town Census
· Information center
To obtain a birth certificate:
For all requests through the mail please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return. To obtain a birth certificate, please send a signed letter including the name and date of birth for the birth record requested. If the birth is for a minor, please indicate your relationship to the minor, as well as your own date of birth and birthplace. Include a check made out to the Town of Rockport in the amount of $5.00 for each certified copy.
To obtain a marriage certificate:
For all requests through the mail please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return. To obtain a marriage certificate, please send a signed letter including the names of the bride and groom, and the date of marriage. If someone other than the bride or groom is requesting the record, please indicate the name of the person making the request, their relationship to the couple, and some information about themselves (date of birth, birth place, etc). Include a check made out to the Town of Rockport in the amount of $5.00 for each certified copy.
Couples who want information about applying for a marriage license should call the Town Clerk’s office approximately three to four weeks in advance of the scheduled date of marriage to get details on the application and licensing process.
